MRINTA QUEST

A Tale of Zeheryfel

The spoiled younger son of a merchant, Erki lives in the great city of the Oldenburg.  The plague strikes, and Erki's older brother and many other citizens are suddenly dying.  A spell is cast to keep his brother alive, and Erki is sent away from the danger.  But, he is not truly safe.  As he begins a quest to find a cure for the plague, mysterious forces seek to stop him, and he is helped only by the imperfect spells of the khoirey, who are not always what they seem.  This is Erki's story, one of magic, friendship, love, loss and selflessness.

This is an enchanting saga of a young man's quest to find the magic remedy to the plague ravaging his city and threatening his beloved brother. In the process, he encounters many adventures and discovers his first love, all the while plumbing the resources of his own ingenuity as he strives to save his people.

Mrinta Quest is a fun book! I think I will read it again to my young daughter. It is a story of a young boy, Erki, who is thrown into a quest to save brother, who is near death with a sickness that has swept the city.

This is A. L. Peevey's first publication and I really enjoyed it. Be warned: Peevey likes to coin new words with different pronunciations, but has made available a handy index at the back to assist.

Bottom line: I liked it. Pick it up and read it.
